Quad City Art @ the Airport
Very excited to be showing with these 2 amazing artists. I will have 13 pieces from my Salt Flats Series in this show.
From March 3-April 28th, Quad City Arts Art @ the Airport presents “Natural Installations” by Dwn Wohlford, encaustic paintings by Cindy Lesperance (McHenry, IL) and color reduction woodcuts by Cathie Crawford (Peoria, IL.)
Cindy Lesperance’swork will explore the abstractness of the earth when viewed from an aerial perspective. Lesperance uses encaustic medium (wax with pigment) to create smooth polished sections of color and then adds her signature drop technique to provide interesting textural areas. Each work becomes a composition of colors, shapes and textures.
Cathie Crawford’s color reduction woodcuts “deal with a particular feeling or emotion I have toward my immediate environment. I have always been attracted to water, seeking it out for its restorative powers. Water represents a powerful life-giving force, a source of replenishment, rejuvenation and renewed energy.” With the theme of water present in every print, viewers will find them calming and peaceful.
Art @ the Airportin The Quad City International airport gallery is easy to find. It is just across from the gift shop and restaurant and right before the security checkpoint. The gallery never closes, and you will pay just a dollar for parking.
